The interactive map
A world map of sacred fungi
Where humanity has encountered the sacred mushroom — mapped, and colour-coded by how well each connection is evidenced. Markers resolve to towns or regions, never to exact sacred sites.
Filter markers
Marker locations are approximate and resolve to towns or regions — the archive never publishes exact sacred sites, gathering grounds, or private ceremonial spaces.
How to read this map
Filled markers are cultures, coloured by their evidence label — green for a documented living tradition, sepia for strong historical evidence, ochre for archaeological interpretation, cobalt for newly documented cases, and red for disputed ones. Hollow green rings mark mushroom habitats. Use the filters above the map to isolate any layer.
